Jan. 22 invitation to discuss the future of elementary education at Scotia-Glenville

Dear S-G Families and Community,

We invite you to participate in a public forum this Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Middle School Cafeteria, located at 10 Prestige Parkway, Scotia.

Public Forum Details

In this forum, we will delve into the Reimagining Our Schools (ROS) initiative, a plan designed to reshape Scotia-Glenville’s elementary education framework for the 2026-27 school year. Faced with declining enrollment and an anticipated budget shortfall, the board has approved a plan to reduce the number of elementary schools from four to three. The approach seeks to manage costs while safeguarding essential programs.

This decision aligns with the suggestions put forth by the Reimagining Our Schools work groups, which include nearly 70 stakeholders from the district. Since September, they have been diligently examining various options to best support our students and families during this transition.

Although no definitive decisions have been made about which school may close or be repurposed, your input is crucial as we move forward.
