With winter weather predicted for this week, we want to inform you about what to expect regarding school closings and delays. Scotia-Glenville schools will either delay opening or close when snow or hazardous road conditions make travel challenging or unsafe.
All updates regarding the school schedule will be shared via ParentSquare, the district’s mass notification system. Please be aware that during emergencies or closures, we make use of ParentSquare Smart Alerts for timely notifications. Initially, alerts will be dispatched as text messages, and if a text fails to deliver, an automatic voice call will be initiated.
Additionally, weather-related updates will be available on our website and through local media channels.
What to anticipate
- Morning closures or delays will typically be announced by 6:30 a.m.
- In case of a delay, school will start two hours later than initially scheduled. Breakfast and morning CTE classes will not be offered.
- When schools are closed due to emergencies, all after-school activities, games, and practices will be canceled unless stated otherwise.
If your email or phone number has changed, please contact the main secretary in your school so you don’t miss an important message. If you have multiple children attending S-G schools, updating your contact information for one school will update for all.
