COMMENT: Why is Hitchcock field called Hitchcock field?
RESPONSE: At a dedication ceremony held on June 9, 1996, The Board of Education ordered that the Senior High School Athletic Field Complex shall henceforth be known as The Craig T. Hitchcock Athletic Field, and further, authorized the construction of entrance arches and ticket booths at the two entranceways to display the name of the field. Mr. Hitchcock served the S-G CSD as a teacher, coach and Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics for 35 years (1954-1988). During his distinguished career, Mr. Hitchcock coached football, skiing, wrestling, basketball, track, and tennis and had an impact on thousands of students.
