SGCSD honors Jessica Crisci as Tartan Employee of the Month

The Scotia-Glenville Central School District Board of Education is thrilled to present Chorus Director Jessica Crisci as the Tartan Employee of the Month for March.

Jess is a true lifelong Tartan who exemplifies the idea that you can indeed come home again. Her journey with Scotia-Glenville began long before she became a faculty member; she walked the halls of our schools as a student in the class of ’97 and dedicated her high school years to being a passionate Choralaire. Since 2001, we have been incredibly fortunate that she chose to return to her roots, inspiring future generations as the district’s Chorus and Choralaires Director.

For decades, Jess has poured her heart into this district, going well beyond the role of a teacher to become a mentor and advocate for every student who enters her room. Jess has gone above and beyond to nurture her students both musically and personally.

Whether she is spending countless hours after school prepping for all the school performances such as the Winter Concert or Songtime, coaching individual students for competitions, bringing her students to district and community events to perform, or reaching into her own pocket to ensure a student has the resources they need to succeed, Jess always puts her “kids” first.

She is the engine behind so much of our students’ joy, leading the Tartones and Harmonettes each week and serving as the Music Director of our annual Spring Musical – a production that would truly be “mere words” without her expertise. She even brings the magic of the professional stage to her students, organizing annual trips to places like New York City so they can experience the wonders of Broadway firsthand. But perhaps most importantly, Jess is there for the quiet moments. She makes sure her students are okay, offering a supportive hand and a caring heart whenever they need it most. She provides a soft landing and a supportive voice for every student who walks through her door. Thank you, Jess, for everything you have done for our students and our community. To borrow a phrase from one of our Choralaires’ well-known songs, without Jessica Crisci, Scotia-Glenville would truly be “Without a Song.”
