SGCSD honors Chris Casey as Tartan Employee of the Month

The Scotia-Glenville Central School District Board of Education is excited to announce Chris Casey as our Tartan Employee of the Month of May!

Chris, our dedicated evening custodian at Glen-Worden, has made an extraordinary impact on our school community through his professionalism, kindness, and unwavering commitment.

Chris joined us after the closure of The College of Saint Rose and has been a valued member of our team from day one. Every afternoon, he arrives ready to ensure our classrooms and hallways are safe and spotless, working diligently behind the scenes so students and staff can thrive in a clean environment. But Chris’s contributions go far beyond his daily responsibilities.

He is known for being kind, hardworking, consistent, and reliable—qualities that shine through in everything he does. A perfect example of his character is when he noticed a beloved rocking chair, cherished by one of our special education teachers, had been discarded and marked for disposal. Instead of walking by, Chris took the chair home, refurbished it, and returned it looking better than ever, turning what others saw as trash into a treasured piece once again.

Chris embodies the spirit of Scotia-Glenville—he sees potential where others see obstacles, and he always strives to leave every place and person better than he found them. He is a true thread in the beautiful Tartan of our school, living out our values of kindness, service, and dedication every day.

Please join us in congratulating Chris Casey for his outstanding service and positive influence on our students, staff, and families. Thank you, Chris, for all that you do!
