The district is managing a transition from Blackboard to the ParentSquare platform for districtwide, building, and classroom level communications, including emergency and school closure alert notifications.
Migrating to a new system is not without its challenges. Thank you to those who have registered with ParentSquare and provided input to our team. We are working diligently to correct the root cause of issues presented to us. Your feedback has helped in understanding how crucial it is for all families to please take a moment to review and update your contact information in PowerSchool to ensure that you are receiving timely and accurate notifications.
The most common issues include an inability to log in to ParentSquare; or not being able to see some or all of your children within the web portal or iOS & Android apps after logging in.
- The reason for this is because all of the contacts for ParentSquare come from our student information system, PowerSchool.
- While your contact info may be listed in PowerSchool, it may not be entirely accurate or may be missing key pieces of information that relate to you or your child.
If you encounter an issue like this, be sure to email parentsquare@sgcsd.net to have your building administrative team verify and correct any discrepancies with your contact information. In most cases, they will be able to identify the issue and correct it. If not, they will engage the district ParentSquare team to correct the potential issue. Once it has been corrected, your ParentSquare account will update overnight, and your issue should be resolved.
Please remember, by registering and logging in to ParentSquare, you’ll be able to stay up-to-date on all of your children’s activities, schedules, and important announcements in one convenient place. So don’t hesitate to take advantage of this valuable tool.
