FREE school meals starting Friday, Dec. 1

Breakfast and lunch will be free for the rest of the school year for all Scotia-Glenville students beginning on Friday. The district was recently approved to offer this benefit to families through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program.

After the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanded access to the federal program:

  • The high school, middle school, Lincoln and Sacandaga qualified for the free meals program through June 30, 2027.
  • Glendaal and Glen-Worden was awarded a waiver to offer free breakfast and lunch until June 30, 2024. (The district will revisit the qualifications in April 2024.)

The remaining balances on MySchoolBucks accounts after Thursday can be used for a la carte items. Parents and guardians can also request a refund through the Business Office by emailing Sheri Tyrell at styrell@sgcsd.net
