
The alumni inducted into the 2025 Scotia-Glenville Athletic Hall of Fame were chosen by the S-G Athletic Hall of Fame Committee following an open nomination process:
- Chris Rodecker – a champion wrestler and a versatile athlete across multiple sports
- Brandon Madigan – celebrated as one of the best distance runners in SGHS history
- Kristina Dion Abramo – a remarkable 13-time varsity letter-holder for track and volleyball
- Nicholas Schaub – acknowledged as one of the leading athletes in the Foothills Council
Nicholas Schaub
Nicholas Schaub shone brightly as a two-sport athlete at Scotia-Glenville, making his mark in both football and baseball while gaining recognition as one of the premier athletes in the Foothills Council during his high school career. In 2012 he was Foothills 1st team designated hitter for baseball. In 2013 and 2014 he was Foothills 1st team catcher for baseball.

Nicholas made an immediate impact on the football field. As a sophomore, he earned a spot on the 2nd Team Class A Offensive Line. By his junior year, he had established himself as one of the league’s elite, receiving 1st Team Class A honors as a linebacker. He capped off his high school football career in his senior year with another 1st Team selection, this time in Class B as Linebacker, showcasing his versatility, toughness, and leadership on the field.
On the baseball diamond, Nicholas was equally impressive. As a sophomore, he was named 1st Team Foothills Council Designated Hitter, followed by back-to-back 1st Team honors as a catcher during his junior and senior years. His powerful hitting and consistent performance behind the plate earned him the respect of his peers in the league.
Following graduation, Nicholas continued his athletic career at SUNY Schenectady, where he quickly gained the admiration of coaches and teammates, being appointed team captain as a freshman. In his sophomore year, he was recognized as the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete, highlighting his dedication and leadership both on the field and in the classroom.
Nicholas then progressed to The College of Saint Rose on an athletic scholarship, where he not only competed at the NCAA Division II level but also excelled academically, earning a spot on the NE-10 Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll in both the spring and fall semesters.
Kristina Dion Abramo
Kristina Dion Abramo stands out as one of Scotia-Glenville’s most accomplished and versatile athletes, making a mark in both volleyball and track and field. Throughout her impressive career, she garnered an incredible 13 varsity letters—10 in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field and 3 in Volleyball—showcasing her dedication, leadership, and exceptional athletic prowess.

As a captain of all three of her varsity sports—volleyball, indoor track, and outdoor track and field—Kristina demonstrated true leadership. Her influence was particularly notable in the throwing events, where she set school records that highlighted her strength and commitment. She established the Indoor Shot Put record at 36 feet, 2.5 inches, and the Outdoor Shot Put record at 33 feet, 3 inches.
Kristina consistently rose to the challenge on the biggest stages. In 2002, she achieved 11th place in New York State for the Shot Put, and in 2003, she ascended even further to 6th place statewide. During her journey, she earned nine Sectional patches in Track and Field, solidifying her status as one of the program’s most decorated athletes.
Her excellence did not go unnoticed; Kristina received numerous accolades from her coaches and teammates. Throughout her career, she was honored with the MVP Award, the Coaches Award, the Commitment and Sacrifice Award, and the 110% Award—each a testament to her work ethic, perseverance, and team-oriented spirit.
Kristina continued her track and field journey at SUNY Geneseo, competing in Shot, Discus, Javelin, and Hammer throw until a knee injury ultimately brought her athletic career to an end.
Brandon Madigan
Brandon Madigan was an exceptional three-sport athlete at Scotia-Glenville, earning varsity letters throughout all four years of high school in Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track and Field. He established himself as one of the school’s premier distance runners, showcasing a remarkable blend of talent, dedication, and an unwavering competitive spirit.

In Cross Country, Brandon achieved a notable milestone, qualifying for the New York State Championships every year of his high school career—an accomplishment matched by only one other Tartan in the school’s history. He led his team to an impressive league record of 26-4 during that time, and his individual performances significantly impacted Scotia-Glenville athletics. Brandon still holds the 6th spot on the all-time Top Male Tartan Times at the prestigious Saratoga Performing Arts Center course, renowned for being one of the most competitive in the state.
Brandon’s excellence also shone on the track. In Indoor Track, he became a 2-time Sectional Champion at the 3200 meters, solidifying his reputation as one of the top distance runners in Section II. In Outdoor Track, he secured a 2nd place finish at Sectionals in the 3200 meters and played a vital role on the 4×800 meter relay team, which achieved a commendable 3rd place at the Sectional Championships.
After graduating in 2006, Brandon pursued his academic and athletic endeavors at The College of Saint Rose, where he continued to compete in Cross Country and Track and Field. His passion for distance running carried on beyond college, culminating in his accomplishment of becoming an Ironman in triathlon competitions.
Recognized by both coaches and teammates for being highly coachable, Brandon exemplified strong ethics, integrity, and determination. A true distance runner, he set the benchmark for commitment and perseverance across all facets of life.
Chris Rodecker
Chris Rodecker was a remarkable multi-sport athlete at Scotia-Glenville, earning varsity letters in wrestling, football, and baseball. He served as a six-year varsity starter in wrestling from seventh through twelfth grade, solidifying his status as one of the school’s most accomplished athletes. Chris achieved an impressive career record of 156 wins, 24 losses, and 1 tie, which placed him third in Section II for career victories and ninth in New York State at the time of his graduation. He was a two-time Section II Champion in 1993 and 1994 and achieved a commendable fifth place in the New York State Championships.
Beyond wrestling, Chris made notable contributions to the football and baseball programs at Scotia-Glenville. On the football field, he excelled as a defensive back, leading the league with nine interceptions in 1993, and gaining recognition as one of the region’s top players. In baseball, he was a consistent presence and vital contributor, leading the team as a winning pitcher with an 8-1 record in 1993, further highlighting his versatility and dedication to Scotia-Glenville athletics.
After graduation, Chris continued his wrestling journey at Hudson Valley Community College and later at SUNY Cortland, competing at the collegiate level. Since his college days, he has organized a 5K run for Ovarian Cancer Early Detection, volunteered as a coach in his community, and received the President’s Club award in 2022 at his workplace.
