Athletics

Summer Nurses for Sports Clearances

Positions are available for two registered nurses for Summer Sports Clearances up to 25 hours each. Responsibilities would include electronic clearing potential athletes to play sports in the Fall on FamilyID and communication with district medical directors. NYS Nursing License required. Salary would be the current nurses’ hourly rate. Effective 7/21/25-9/3/25. Only current SGTA members are eligible to apply to these postings.

GLEN-WORDEN ELEMENTARY – TEACHING ASSISTANTS (3)

Teaching Assistants – Full-time, probationary teaching assistant positions (anticipated –
3 openings) starting September 1, 2025 working in the new 6:1:3 self-contained
classroom for students in grade K-2. Candidates must possess a minimum of a Level 1
Teaching Assistant certification.

HIGH SCHOOL – TEACHING ASSISTANT

Teaching Assistant – Full-time, probationary teaching assistant position (anticipated)
starting September 1, 2025 working in the high school life skills classroom with special
education students. Candidates must possess a minimum of a Level I Teaching Assistant
certification.

starting September 1, 2025 working in the high school self-contained program.

ANTICIPATED VACANCY – GENERAL MAINTENANCE MECHANIC , BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

CIVIL SERVICE NON COMPETITIVE POSITION. ONLY EMPLOYEES WHO MEET THE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MAY APPLY.

Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of high school equivalency
diploma and two years of experience in general maintenance or building trades work or
two years of mechanical and commercial plumbing experience

Hours : 7:00- 3:30 pm ( 30 minute lunch )
Work Year : 12 months
Hourly Rate Range: In accordance with provisions in the Local 766 contract. Step 1

    Transportation Dept.

    Teacher Aide Positions

    (Non-competitive class)

    Teacher Aide positions exist in the Transportation Dept. effective immediately.

    • Hours:
      6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
      2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
    • Hourly rate: $15.50/hour

    Substitute Bus Drivers and Transportation Aides
    Must be good with children and multitasking as primary responsibility will be to transport children to and from school safely.
    • Hours: hours will vary depending on route assignments
    • Qualifications: Must be 21 years or older, have High School Diploma or equivalent, CDL B with passenger, school bus and Air brake endorsement. (we will train if they don’t currently have these qualifications)
    • Must pass 19A/DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing, fingerprinting.
    • Rate of pay: Based on Local 766 Contract

      If there is an active opening in the department, you need to pick up an application. Check here to see if there is an opening in the buildings and grounds department.
      Applications can be picked up the Buildings and Grounds office at the District Office, 900 Preddice Parkway (the end of Lark Street) in Scotia. The Buildings and Grounds Department is located near the business office.

      Clerical

      Scotia-Glenville only hires from an active Schenectady County Civil Service Commission list for clerical positions. If there is a position available, and it can not be filled from candidates on the active Civil Service list, then it will be advertised and applications will be available.
