Message from the Principal

Dear Scotia-Glenville High School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am excited to partner with you as we support your child through these crucial high school years.

High school is a pivotal time where students transition into young adults, take ownership of their future, and prepare for higher education, vocational pathways, or entering the workforce. Our primary goal is to ensure every student feels supported, challenged, and fully prepared for whatever path they choose after graduation.

Here are a few key ways we can work together to ensure your student thrives this year:Mr. Bednarek at high school

  • Promote Student Ownership: Encourage your high schooler to advocate for themselves. If they are struggling with course material, need extra support, or have questions about assignments, guide them to reach out directly to their teachers, school counselors, and administrators - we are here to help.
  • Prioritize Balance and Well-being: Between academics, extracurriculars, jobs, and social lives, high school can be demanding. Help your child manage their time effectively, maintain healthy sleep habits, and keep a realistic balance to avoid burnout.
  • Keep Post-Secondary Goals in Mind: Whether your student is a freshman exploring interests or a senior preparing applications, encourage them to regularly connect with their school counselor to review graduation progress and post-secondary goals.
  • Stay Informed via ParentSquare: High schoolers are independent, but staying connected to the school remains vital. Use ParentSquare to track updates, monitor academic progress, and stay aware of school events and deadlines.

We are committed to helping every student build a strong foundation for their future. Please feel free to reach out to our administration, teaching staff, or counseling department whenever you need support.

Warm regards,

Principal Bednarek
