2026-27 Elementary placement update for students currently in grades K-4

Dear SG Families,

Current grade K-4 students will receive a 2026-27 building placement notification via ParentSquare by the end of this week. Hard copies will also be mailed home. Our primary goals during this process were to keep siblings and neighborhoods together whenever possible, while also improving class size balance across the district. As a result of this rezoning, some students will be rezoned to a new elementary school starting in 2026-27.

If you have an incoming kindergartener for 2026-27, they will also attend the same school as their sibling. Some students who are pending their Committee of Special Education meeting will not receive a letter until after their CSE review. New to S-G Kindergarten families will receive their school placement later this Spring.

  • If you have questions regarding your child’s placement or would like to request a transfer to a different elementary school, please refer to the information directly below these bullet points.
  • Requests for transfers are considered only by the Superintendent.
  • For more information on transfer requests, continue reading to the second section of this page or click here.

To request that your child attend an elementary school other than their assigned home school, a written letter must be submitted to Superintendent Swartz. This request must be emailed or mailed between April 1 and April 13. Your request must include:

Student name(s)
