Here are this morning’s daily announcements at the high school.

Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019

  • The Varsity Bowling team fought hard and pulled out a late win in their 3rd game vs. South Glens Falls. Jacob McKenzie, Jacy Roman and Ryan Rockwell combined for a three game total of 696 pins which is a team record. Go Tartans!
  • Journalism Club will be meeting today after school at 2:30 in the LMC
  • There will be a DECA/FBLA meeting immediately after school on Tuesday, January 22nd in Room A25. We will be picking the date for our club trip. DECA/FBLA members should attend this meeting on Tuesday the 22nd.
  • Varsity Club will be meeting today at 2:30 in the main gym.
  • Attention Juniors & Seniors who are interested in applying for National Honor Society, Resume Packets are available for pick up from Mrs. Gonnelly in her office in the lower A wing at the Yellow Brick road mural.   Resumes must be completed and returned directly to Mrs. Gonnelly no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, February 1.
  • SENIORS:  Online orders for caps, gowns, and other senior items need to be placed by FEBRUARY 1st.  Please see your Class President, Kelly Mayette, or Senior Advisor, Mrs. Sawyer.
  • Don’t forget to order your 2018-19 yearbook!! Orders can be placed online, by phone or mailed in. If you need information or an order sheet, please see Mrs. Russell or stop by the school store. Information sheets about ordering a yearbook are available any time at the school store.
  • The school store will be closed today.
  • There will be an important meeting for all high school and current 8th grade football players today at 2:45 in the high school B9 cafeteria. All players interested in playing football this fall should attend.
  • Regents exams will be given on Tuesday, January 22-Friday, January 25th. Students taking a morning exam will need to report to the exam at 7:45, immediately after homeroom.  If you miss your lunch period, you should go directly to the cafeteria after finishing the exam. Students taking an afternoon exam will need to report to the testing room at 11:15. All students taking an afternoon exam will have a 5th period lunch. Students who have 5th period lunch should report to the cafeterias for a study hall. Friday, January 25th is a rating day; there will be no school for students unless sitting for the Earth Science or Chemistry exam.  No breakfast or lunch will be served that day.
  • Good luck to the girls’ JV and Varsity Basketball team as they compete against Gloversville!!!

  • Congratulations to Madelyn Graham for being accepted to SUNY Buffalo University, SUNY Plattsburgh and UMass – Amherst
  • Congratulations to Kayla Seguin for being accepted to Hartwick College
  • Varsity Club will be meeting this Thursday at 2:30 in the main gym.

  • Kyle Ostrander, Ryan Bruce, Josh Jeffes, and Noah Greski won the 4 x 800 m. relay at the Yale Invitational this past weekend. Gabe Winters-Bona, Ryan Bruce, Josh Jeffes, and Kyle Ostrander placed 3rd in the Distance Medley relay. Josh Jeffes placed 7th out of 114 in the 600 meter missing the school record by 3/10 of a second. Gabe Winters-Bona placed 2nd in his heat of the 3000 and 34th out of 306. Josh Jeffes, Ryan Bruce, Kyle Ostrander, and Dominic Jack also hit state qualifier standards in their individual events.
  • Zoe Conner, Jamaica Seeley-Angus, Tanya Leggiero, and Lexi Woods hit the state qualifier standard in the 4×200 m. relay at the Yale Invitational. Annamarie Piccirillo, Olivia Wheeler, Sophia Velasco, and Delaney Krogh also hit the state qualifier standard in the 4×800 m. relay. Delaney Krogh, Annamarie Piccirillo, and Gabby Tallman all hit state qualifier standards in their individual events.
  • Mr. Prylo’s lessons are cancelled for today.
