Here are this morning’s daily announcements from the high school.

  • Journalism club will hold the first club meeting of the year on Thursday 9/26. If you are interested in hearing what we are all about, please come join us in the LMC next week
  • There will be an FBLA/DECA meeting Monday September 23rd in room A25 at 2:40. We will be taking nominations for officers. All members who have signed up for the clubs should plan on attending. If you are interested in being nominated for an officer you must be present at this meeting. If you have any questions please see Mr. Parks or Mrs. Carr
  • PSAT Registration will begin on Tuesday, September 24 before homeroom in the Main Lobby.  Registration will continue each morning through Wednesday, October 2.Cost is $27.  Cash or check written to S-G HS. If you have questions, please see your Guidance Counselor.
  • Ski club will hold the vote for officers on Wednesday, September 25th at 2:35 in the small gym. Please make every effort to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Turgeon.
  • Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Swim Team on their win against Troy Wednesday. Great swims by Jillian Rosenbaum, Tia Jack, Olympia Fresoni, and Sophie Olson. Sophie won the 50 freestyle, Olympia won the 500 freestyle, and Tia won the 200 IM. Also congratulations to their 200 Medley Relay consisting of Sophie Olson, Sophie Swain, Ally Frame, and Tia Jack for breaking the pool record at Troy.”
  • Scotia-Glenville defeated Glens Falls 2 goals to nil on Thursday.  The boys all put in a stellar effort on the new turf field.  Kofi Jack scored the first goal for boys’ soccer on the new turf on an assist from Jarred O’Connor and Jaiden Alas scored the second goal on an assist from Aidan Nichter.
  • JV  Boys Soccer team beat Glen Falls 3-1 yesterday. Liam Chase scored a goal and Sam Fasiglione scored a goal. Noah Murdock had two assists.
  • Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team for their 7-1 win against Gloversville. Goals were scored by Bridget Malone, 2 by Olivia Geniti, 2 by Zoe Connor, Abby Esperti and Caroline Rooney. Assist were made by: Lia Dicarlo, Emma Malone, Caroline Rooney, Zoe Connor and Olivia Geniti. Belle Warfield had 4 saves.
  • Todays college visit is Johnson and Wells University
  • Happy national string cheese day, happy pepperoni pizza day, and happy national fried rice day

  • The JV girl’s soccer team beat Gloversville yesterday 10-0.   Lily Dempsey had 3 goals, Ella Drake, Susie Sidlauskas and Gia Verdi all had 2 goals and Gray Racine had 1. Lily Dempsey, Ella Drake, Jodie May and Gia Verdi all had assists.
  • Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team for their 4-1 win on the new field yesterday. Lucy Crounse had two goals while Annamarie Piccirillo and Brooklyn Drago each scored one. Morgan Nealon and Rylee O’Connor both had assists.
  • Today’s college visit are CASDA Fall College fair @ SUNY HVCC

  • Art Club will be meeting in the A-5 Art room today from 2:35-3:00. Hope to see you there!
  • All student and staff are invited to The Hitchcock Gate entrance to the field by Sacandaga elementary school at 3:30 today for a brief ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new turf field.  Our Field Hockey team will get the first opportunity to play on the new field at 4:30 this afternoon against South Glens Falls and then on Wednesday afternoon Our Varsity Girls Soccer team will play.  On Thursday afternoon the Boys Varsity Soccer Team will have a game and on Friday night the Football team will cap off the week on the new surface.  Let’s get out and cheer on the players, cheerleaders, and musicians this week and in the days to come. Let’s go Tartans!
  • Congratulations to the girl’s varsity tennis team as they defeated South Glens Falls 5-2 yesterday.   Charlotte Tvelia, Maddie Cook, and Jordan Ladouceur all won their singles matches in straight sets. The doubles teams of Emma Schaub/Rosa Cieszynski and Piper Wiegert/Kaitlyn Blucher also won in straight sets.  Great job to all team members.
  • There will be a BASIC meeting, (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) on Thursday, September 19 from 2:30 to 3:15 pm in B-07. This club is open to all students. We read the Bible together, pray and talk about how God can help us in our everyday lives. We also plan fun activities and service projects. Please bring a friend and come join us in B-07 on Thursday.  Any questions, see Mrs. Bandy in B-07.  Have a great day!
