Lincoln Elementary School PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) Please support your PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation.

At Lincoln, the PTA has provided the students with various educational programs. These programs encourage and enrich the education of the students. They occur either during the school day or in after-school activities.

The PTA has helped to make school a more meaningful place for the students and its families.

PTA meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center unless otherwise indicated.

Scotia-Glenville PTA Council

The PTA Council is comprised of members of the six school PTAs who come together to plan events for all schools.

Mission Statement

To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation

The Objectives of the PTA

To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship
To raise the standards of home life
To secure adequate laws for the care of protection of children and youth
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth
To develop, between educators and the general public, such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth, the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education

PTA Membership

You may think as a member of the PTA, you just organize carpools and chaperone field trips. But by being a member, you do much more. While making sure they stay quiet in the back seat, your voice is being heard on all the issues that affect your kids. Kids and violence. Kids and TV. And of course, kids and education. Just by belonging to your local PTA, you’re doing much more than car pooling.
