Good Afternoon Middle School Parents/Guardians,
We are writing to you to inform you that we were made aware of a rumor of a threat of violence at the Middle School. The rumor, which originated from a student after school Thursday, December 2, centered around an assertion that an individual would come to the Middle School Friday and “shoot up the school.”
After investigating the rumor/threat Thursday evening and Friday, it was deemed to be not credible or false. At no point was the safety and security of the students and staff ever in question or compromised. If that were the case, emergency protocols would have been implemented, and the emergency notifier system initiated.
We take student/staff safety very seriously and follow up on every allegation we are made aware of.
