Meet our New Transportation Director
Please Welcome Joe Russo,
Our New Director of Transportation!
We are delighted to welcome Joe Russo as Scotia-Glenville Central School District’s new Director of Transportation, effective October 1, 2026.
For Joe, joining Scotia-Glenville is something of a homecoming. He grew up in the Village of Scotia and attended our elementary, middle, and high school through his freshman year. Now a resident of Rotterdam, Joe brings both a personal connection to our community and a strong understanding of the region.
Joe joins us from the Guilderland Central School District, where he began his transportation career as a bus driver before advancing to bus router and, most recently, dispatcher. These experiences have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of school transportation operations. In addition, these opportunities enabled Joe to develop his leadership skills in employee coaching and motivation, recruitment and hiring, staff supervision, and the implementation of policies and procedures.
Above all, Joe is committed to student safety, supporting his colleagues, and continually improving transportation services. He recognizes the important role our transportation staff play in ensuring that students begin and end each school day safely and positively.
As Joe shared, "I am drawn to this opportunity because it aligns perfectly with my service-oriented working style. I take pride in fostering an environment that prioritizes safety and professionalism among team members."
