District considers tax exemptions for senior citizens and first responders

On Monday, Feb. 12, the Scotia-Glenville School District will have two public hearings in the Middle School Cafeteria before the Board of Education meeting. 

First, the board will convene at 6:30 p.m. to discuss changes to the income levels for granting a partial exemption from real property taxes for school purposes to certain persons aged 65 or over. Public comment will be heard at that time.

Following, at 6:45 p.m. there will be a public hearing on the adoption of the Property Tax Exemption under Real Property Tax Law Section 466-a, for eligible volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers. Public comment will be heard at that time.
