Amurao and Seburn: SGHS Athletes of the Month

Congratulations to tennis player Isabel Amurao and football player Aidan Seburn for being selected as the top performing Tartan high school athletes for the month of October.

Isabel Amurao

Isabel Amurao, varsity tennis

Isabel Amurao is an 11th grader on the tennis team who has accomplished remarkable feats.

As an honors student and the number one singles player, Isabel guided her team through an extraordinary season, achieving titles such as Foothills Council Co-Champions, Class B Sectional Champions, and Divisional Champions. Notably, she also ended Queensbury’s impressive 73-match winning streak.

On an individual level, Isabel finished undefeated in league play for the third consecutive year, advanced to the Section 2 Singles Finals—a first for SG—and secured 7th place at the NYSPHSAA State Tournament, marking the highest finish in the school’s history.

She was also recognized as the Section 2 Sportsmanship Award Winner and claimed the Foothills Council Doubles Championship alongside her sister Gabriela.

Aidan Seburn

Aidan Seburn, varsity football

Aidan Seburn, a senior varsity football player, is being celebrated for his outstanding performance and leadership.

As the team’s starting linebacker, he leads in tackles, averaging 15 per game and nearing a total of 100 for the season. His unwavering work ethic and dedication set a high standard for his teammates.

Beyond football, Aidan upholds a strong GPA and consistently earns Honor Roll recognition, embodying the essence of a committed student-athlete.
