Weekly Notification: One positive COVID-19 case since May 19

With the expansion of COVID-19 vaccinations, even to those as young as 12 years old, Scotia-Glenville will now post weekly how many cases were in the schools during the previous week.

These are the cases from the previous week:

  • A staff member at the Middle School tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 19.

Everyone at the school is following health guidelines by wearing face masks and keeping socially distant, including the individual who tested positive. All staff members and students complete a series of health questions every morning from the Pinpoint Health Screening App before coming to school.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information about individuals suspected of, or having, COVID – 19. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
