Two Glendaal students test positive for COVID-19

Two Glendaal Elementary students have tested positive for COVID-19. Because the cases were confirmed during the break when students were home, there is no contact tracing required.

Everyone at the school is following health guidelines by wearing face masks and keeping socially distant, including the individual who tested positive. All staff members and students complete a series of health questions every morning from the Pinpoint Health Screening App before coming to school.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information about individuals suspected of, or having, COVID – 19. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
