For the past 20 years, the Capital District YMCA’s has recognized Outstanding Student and Educator with annual awards.

This year, Jay Zeman, a grade 12 student at S-G, was recognized for this honor.

Twelve students and two educators were nominated for the award from S-G: Awards: Elizabeth Esker, Paige Bailey, Taylor Podeswa, Liana Herrera, Rhonda Nadeau, Josie McPhail, Brendan Rechnitzer, Trevor Martin, Margaret Scognamiglio, Collin McPhail and Tayler Motyl. In addition, math teacher Lynn Greene and Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Connie Zack were nominated.

The YMCA says the award recognizes the “best of the best” in our local high schools, spotlighting those students and educators that demonstrate leadership and volunteerism in their respective school, community and/or YMCA.
