NYS employees and spectators at the Empire State Plaza got a treat on Friday, March 6, as select music groups from the high school and middle school performed the Empire State Plaza to celebrate “Music in our Schools Month.”

The SG High School Jazz Band and Drumline, under the direction of John Prylo, teamed up with Cheryl Ferraro and the Chamber Orchestra and select middle school group Lord of the Strings, a combined 7/8 grade middle-school ensemble, for the performance.

During the performance, Senator Jim Tedisco showed his support and took pictures with the students.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase SG’s talented musicians,” said Prylo.
