Nearly 50 students help to feed 14,000 across the world

Working together to package meals

Last Saturday, nearly 50 students in the GIVE service learning program at the high school rolled up their sleeves and created meal packages that will feed 14,000 people in need across the world.

The effort, through Rise Against Hunger, was the fourth time S-G students have joined the effort.

“It’s not only fun with my friends, also for such a great cause and to realize that people don’t have access to meals like we do” senior Cristiana Bianchi told WNYT news.

“We are so thankful because we can’t do our work without kids coming out and putting in the effort, I can only do so much by myself, they’re the real hunger champions coming out and packing the meals” said Rob Whitaker, the Rise Against Hunger coordinator.
