MS students are collecting “kindness” coins this week

Choose Kindness Week has begun at the Middle School, kicked off this morning by assemblies for each grade.

Students will be collecting “kindness coins” throughout the week as they are observe doing something kind for a classmate or staff member.  They can turn the coins in to receive free popcorn during “Wonder”, the  PTA-sponsored movie on Friday night.

Here’s the Choose Kindness Week schedule:

Choose Kind Week – April 16th-20th

“It Matters” Monday:

  • T-shirts will be given out during lunch periods
  • Video will be shown to students


  • Post-it notes on lockers


  • Large Helmut mural will be hung in main lobby
  • Students will pay $1.00 to write name on helmet mural
  • Money raised will be donated to Children’s Craniofacial Association


  • Kindness grams in homeroom
  • Teachers will be given helmet grams in their mailboxes and will write the names of their homeroom students on each helmet and pass them out


  • Positive message T-shirts.  Teachers in HR will count how many students are wearing a positive and or kindness related t-shirts.  The homeroom with the most t-shirts will win a free breakfast/pizza party
  • The movie Wonder will be shown for the PTA movie night
  • Staff will wear Choose Kind t-shirts to help conclude the week and promote the movie
