The judges at Lincoln Elementary have a tough task ahead – naming winners from the nearly 60 entries they received in the Virtual Pumpkin Contest.

Lincoln students, both in-person and virtual, were invited to participate. The students had the opportunity to create book characters out of their pumpkins, and they sent in pictures of their pumpkins. Library Media Specialist Lauren Capuano, who coordinated the contest, said the entries “are gourd-geous.”

The winners were:

  • K-2 CategoryPeyton Baron with The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Benjamin Paone with the dragon from Room on a Broom (It was a tie)
  • 3-5 CategoryLeah Haug for the Tale of Despereaux and Darion Haggerty for Harry Potter and Hedwig (It was a tie)
