We have had a great start to the school year! Here are a few reminders about arrival/dismissal, the summer reading program and job opportunities:
Summer Reading Program:
For any returning 1st-5th graders (and even 6th graders who have moved up to the middle school) who participated in the Summer Reading Program, we have extended the due date for the reading logs. All reading logs are due by this Friday, Sept. 17th. Every student who participated will be getting a free book and their name will be entered into a raffle for a Kindle.
For students being dropped off by car in the morning, cars need to circle through the Sac parking lot (next to the high school) and drop off at the sidewalk that connects to the parking lot. Cars should NOT be parking or dropping off on Schermerhorn St. We need to keep this route open for the buses. Please share this information with any daycare providers or other adults who assist with morning drop off.
For students being picked up in the afternoon, dismissal is out the center door on Wren St. Please avoid driving up or down Schermerhorn St next to the school as this is where students get on the buses. It is illegal for drivers to pass a school bus while the bus is stopped and the red lights are flashing. Please share this information with any daycare providers or other adults who assist with afternoon pick up.
Monitors and Aides:
We still have one part-time monitor and one full-time aide vacancy. Anyone who is interested can call the main office at (518) 382-1282 or email the principal, Ms. Federico, at email@example.com. We are also in need of substitute teachers, teaching assistants, aides and monitors.
