Grade 2 students bring holiday cheer to Glen-Worden

Students dressed up perform on the stageValerie Eagan‘s grade 2 students brought a little bit of Christmas to Glen-Worden today with two play performances – “Santa’s Healthy Christmas” and “The Littlest Elf” – complete with Santa, Mrs. Claus and a cast of elves for the entire school.

The class started practicing for the plays in October.

“Santa’s Healthy Christmas” was about Santa staying healthy and keeping fit and perhaps children leaving him fruits and vegetables Christmas eve instead of cookies. “The Littlest Elf” was about how it is OK to be different.

During the play, the littlest elf felt sad because she couldn’t help Santa like the other elves could; however, in the end, the littlest elf was the only one able to fit down the chimney to deliver the presents for Santa. She felt better that she could finally do something to help!

“I wrote both of the plays as we have been talking about staying fit and healthy and that it is ok to be different and that we all matter,” said Eagan. “We are all special.”
