Eight Glendaal students joined hundreds of other students from the Capital Region at a forum to plan strategies in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program at a forum held at the Afrim’s Sports Dome in Latham.
These students, Fuel Up to Play 60 student representatives, attended the event:
Grade 4: Kemper Elston, Elizabeth LaPoint, Katie Crounse and Angelo Goodell
Grade 5: Kendall Gilbert, Sean McLaughlin, Hailey Cooper and Aidan LaPoint.
Glendaal is a Touchdown School in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
Student attendees were taught strategies to enhance academic performance, increase access to school meals, and learned physical activities to improve the mind-body learning connection. The kids learned about good nutrition and the importance of being active as they rotated between four stations set up in the dome. Physical Education teacher Sean Schreiner and Trish Roeser, special education teacher and Fuel Up to Play 60 coordinator, chaperoned the event.
They also heard from retired NFL player Tony Richardson during the event.
