The New York State Art Teachers Association completed the 2020-2021 Olympics of the Visual Arts Competition this past week. This is the 39th annual OVA event, in which teams from all over New York State take part in creatively solving artistic tasks based on different categories and themes.
Scotia-Glenville High School had two teams enter the competition this year. both of which gained awards in their categories. A big congratulations to Riley McCarthy and Ella Schultz, both Scotia-Glenville juniors, who earned third place in the Architecture challenge for their “Cow Haus” design for artist Woody Jackson.
Caroline LaQue, Scotia-Glenville senior, won first-place win in the photography category highlighting her entry in the style of artist Laura Letinsky.
These teams worked hard on their own time to think like artist, to research, experiment, refine and develop their creative solutions.
