Grades K-5: Summer Adventure enrichment program
Summer vacation may look a bit different this year — but Capital Region BOCES has eight weeks of activities to keep children engaged all summer long!
Capital Region BOCES has partnered with its 24 component school districts to create a website of fun, enriching activities for students in grades K-5.
The Summer Adventure website provides a range of activities for kids and their families, ranging from cooking to science to arts and crafts to mindful moments. With a mix of independent learning and family fun, parents have the freedom to choose from a variety of summer adventures for their kids.
New activities will be unveiled every Friday through Aug. 21 to keep kids active all summer long. Visit the site now to sign up for Summer Adventure activities delivered to your inbox each week.
Grades 6-12: Secondary Enrichment Program
The secondary summer enrichment program is offered as mini-courses in an online format. Mini-courses are a series of online high interest and/or skill-building sessions where students can learn from experts about dinosaurs, how Pixar uses geometry to animate their movies, or how great civilizations were built through innovations in agriculture – just to name a few!
Some courses are delivered through the Khan Academy platform, some are hosted by our Scotia-Glenville teachers. You can even filter the mini-course offerings to prep for specific coursework at Scotia-Glenville Middle School and High School.
Students have the choice, under “Connects to Scotia Course,” to search a course that they plan to take in the fall, such as Algebra, Grade 6 Science or US History, and view all of the links associated with that topic.
Please check back often as we continue adding to our selection throughout the summer!
