AGENDA

5. Approve the Cell Phone Allowance by Job Title in Accordance with Board of Education Policy #8331

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the cell phone allowance by title in accordance with Board of Education Policy #8331, as submitted.

6. Approve Stipulation of Settlement By and Between Scotia-Glenville Central School District and the Scotia-Glenville Teachers’ Association

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Stipulation of Settlement By and Between Scotia-Glenville Central School District and the Scotia-Glenville Teachers’ Association regarding the resolve of the grievance dated August 5, 2021 alleging that the School District violated Article 24A of the CBA by the manner in which it was paying the Nurse Coordinator, as submitted.

7. Resolution: Accepting and Appropriating Gifts and Donations from Schenectady Department of Health

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated September 27, 2021, regarding accepting and appropriating the gift and donation of youth cloth masks with the approximate value of $2,000, as submitted.

8. Resolution: Accept Gift and Appropriating Gifts and Donations from Valerie Smith

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated September 27, 2021, regarding accepting and appropriating the gift and donation of a Baldwin piano with an approximate value of $750.00 from Valerie Smith to be used for the music program at Glen-Worden Elementary School, as submitted.

9. Approve Memorandum of Agreement By and Between the Scotia-Glenville Central School District and Scotia-Glenville Teachers’ Association

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Memorandum of Agreement By and Between the Scotia-Glenville Central School District and Scotia-Glenville Teachers’ Association regarding a stipend of $12,000 for Joyce Semerad, a member of the SGTA, for the period September 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, in recognition of duties assumed as Coordinator of the GIVE program and its various activities, as submitted.

10. Adopt 2021-2022 Revised School Breakfast and Lunch Meal Price List

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Revised 2021-2022 Food Service Price List, effective September 1, 2021, as submitted.

11. Request to Establish the Leadership Club at the Middle School

Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request to establish a Leadership Club at the Middle School, as submitted.

12. Communications
a. Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for an unpaid leave of absence of Alicia Guzzo, Executive 1 Secretary (Middle School), from September 15, 2021 to October 13, 2021.

b. Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Jeff Walker, Cleaner, Second Shift (Sacandaga Elementary), effective c.o.b. September 17, 2021, with appreciation for his service to the district.

c. Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Michael J. Kielthy, Bus Driver (Transportation), effective c.o.b. September 29, 2021, with appreciation for his service to the district.

d. Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Bonnie Myers, Teaching Assistant (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective c.o.b. December 31, 2021, with appreciation for her service to the district.

e. Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Laxmi (Jennifer) Singh, School Monitor (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective c.o.b. September 27, 2021, in order for her to take a Teacher Aide position at Glen-Worden Elementary School.

13. Report of Superintendent
a. Staffing
1) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the relocation of Administrative Staff effective September 1, 2021:

  • Megan Johnson from Senior High School to District Wide
  • Mark McCarthy from Middle School to Senior High School/District Wide

2) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Jessalyn Crusado as Teaching Assistant (Middle School), effective September 28, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $17.63/hour (Step 1), 7 hours/day. Ms. Crusado has Teaching Assistant Level 1 certification.

3) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Martinica Alton as School Monitor (Glendaal Elementary School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 16, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 2 hours/day, 10 hours/week.
*This appointment is conditioned on the school district’s receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law §3035.

4) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Debra Timperlake as School Monitor (Middle School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 27, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 2.75 hours/day, 13.75 hours/week.
*This appointment is conditioned on the school district’s receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law §3035.

5) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Austin Zullo as School Monitor (Senior High School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 27, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 2.5 hours/day, 12.5 hours/week.
*This appointment is conditioned on the school district’s receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law §3035.

6) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Laxmi (Jennifer) Singh as Teacher Aide (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective September 28, 2021, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 6.25 hours/day, 31.75 hours/week.

7) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the change of appointment of Gretchen Bonk from Substitute Bus Driver (Transportation) to School Bus Driver (Transportation), effective September 27, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $22.60/hour (Step 1), 4.5 hours/day, 22.5 hours/week.

8) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the change of appointment of Brian Freihofer from Substitute Bus Driver (Transportation) to School Bus Driver (Transportation), effective September 29, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $22.60/hour (Step 1), 5.75 hours/day, 28.75 hours/week.

9) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following appointments as Bus Sanitizers (Transportation), effective September 27, 2021, with 2021-2022 labor rate set forth in Local 766 agreement:

  • Jennessa Freihofer 1 hour/day
  • Jordan Taylor 1 hour/day

10) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Brian Freihofer as Bus Washer/Cleaner (Transportation), effective September 29, 2021, for 1.5 hours/day, laborer rate as set forth in Local 766 agreement.

11) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the revisions to the following supplemental appointments for collateral duties for 2021-2022:
Middle School Yearbook

  • Advisor Sarah Hunt Remove Appointment
  • Advisor Jessica Darling from $824.50 to $1,649

Middle School Art Club

  • Advisor Margaret Zarnofski from No Stipend to $954

8th Grade Science Club

  • Advisor Sarah Hopeck Remove Appointment

12) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following After School Tutoring Instructors and stipends for the 2021-2022 school year:

Senior High School

  • Kerry Saati Stipend $6,000
  • Diana Shanty Stipend $6,000

Middle School

  • Kimberley Morgan Stipend $6,000
  • McKenzie Wetzel Stipend $6,000

13) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of the following as Senior High Athletic Contest Chaperones for 2021-2022, at the rate set forth in collective bargaining contracts:

  • Judith Burbank
  • Roberta DeLong

14) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the correction of start date for the probationary appointment of Sarah Wells as Cleaner, second shift (Glendaal and Glen-Worden), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, from effective September 1, 2021 to effective September 14, 2021, with salary and hours to remain the same.

15) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the changes in hourly appointments for the following school bus drivers with no change in their current hourly rate:

  • Martin T. Bailey from 7.25 hours/day to 5.75 hours/day effective 9/24/2021
  • Keith Palmer from 5.25 hours/day to 6.75 hours/day effective 9/27/2021
  • Tad Boniewski from 3:25 hours/day to 5/75 hours/day effective 9/27/2021

16) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the revised list of assignments and salaries for Teaching Aides and School Monitors for the 2020-2021 school year, as submitted.

17) Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the list of additional substitute teachers, substitute teaching assistants, substitute teaching aides, substitute school bus drivers, and tutors for 2021-2022, as submitted.
