6.    Resolution:  Accept and Appropriate Gift and Donation from Linda Arocho to be used for High School meals

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated September 13, 2021, regarding accepting and appropriating the Gift and Donation from Linda Arocho of $32.60, to be used to help students who may have forgotten to bring their lunch money to school, as submitted.

7.    Resolution:  Accept and Appropriate Gift and Donation from the Sacandaga Elementary School PTA to be Used for Arts in Education Programs

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated September 13, 2021, regarding accepting and appropriating the Gift and Donation from the Sacandaga Elementary School PTA to be used for Arts in Education programs, increasing the General Fun Appropriation Account by $658.15, as submitted.

8.  Approval Policy No. 5020.1, Dignity for All Students Act and Policy No. 5020.1R, Dignity for All Students Act Regulation (Policy 5020.1)

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve Board Policy #5020.1   – Dignity for All Students Act and #5020.1R – Dignity for All Students Act Regulation (changes are in the “Appeal” section of each policy), as submitted.

9.  Approve the Agreement by and between Scotia-Glenville Central School District and OrthoNY as Trainer

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Agreement between Scotia-Glenville Central School District and OrthoNY as Trainer, as submitted.

a.    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Billie Parrelle, Teacher Aide (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective c.o.b. August 6, 2021.

b.    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Erin Allen, Lunch Monitor (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective c.o.b. August 13, 2021, in order for her to take a Door Monitor position at Glendaal Elementary School.

a.    Staffing

1)      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the corrected probationary appointment of Caitlin Magil as Director of Pupil Personnel Services (District-Wide) effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the prorated 2021-2022 salary to be at $120,000.

2)      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve Christine Nofri as Assistant Principal at the Middle School, effective August 24, 2021 through August 23, 2024, with a 2021-2022 salary of $102,000.  Ms. Nofri has initial School Building Leader certification.

3)      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Anthony Peconie as Instructional Administrator for Special Education (District Office), effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 annual salary to be at the rate of $112,764.  Mr. Peconie has professional certification.

4)      Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the extended probationary appointment of Nicholas Criscone, Glen-Worden Elementary School Principal from December 10, 2021 to December 10, 2022.

5)      Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Denise Rochette as Spanish Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the annual rate of $55,711 (Step 8 +M).  Ms. Rochette has professional certification.

6)      Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Nancy Behrens as Technology Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the annual rate of $54,111 (Step 8) based on NYS Technology certification.

7)      Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Morgan Hubbard as Special Education Teacher (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the annual rate of $46,658 (Step 2 +M) based on NYS Students with Disabilities certification.

8)      Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Lindsay Danielson as School Psychologist (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective September 27, 2021 through September 26, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $65,974 (Step 13 +M).  Ms. Danielson has permanent certification.

9)      Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Laura Daley as Reading Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective September 27, 2021 through September 26, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $55,711 (Step 8 +M).  Ms. Daley has professional certification.

10)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Amber Turner as Special Education Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective September 28, 2021 through September 27, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $50, 051 (Step 5 +M).  Ms. Turner has certification in Childhood Education (grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6).

11)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Arielle Fregoe as Reading Teacher (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective on or about September 28, 2021 through September 27, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $53,728 (Step 7 +M).  Ms. Fregoe has professional certification.

12)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Hannah Stewart as Second Grade Teacher (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the annual rate of $52,376 (Step 6 +M).  Ms. Stewart has professional certification.

13)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Sylvie Bergere as AIS Teacher (Middle School), effective September 7, 2021 through September 6, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $67,182 (Step 15 +M).  Ms. Bergere has permanent certification.

14)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Nancy Cousins as Math Teacher (High School), effective October 8, 2021 through October 7, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be prorated at the annual rate of $53,728 (Step 7 +M).

15)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Courtney Conover as Physical Education Substitute Teacher (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through on or about September 29, 2021, with salary to be at the rate of $115.00 daily (first 10 days) and the rate of $123.00 (day 11-20), and then be appointed on the 21st day through December 23, 2021, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the prorated rate of $44,071 (Step 1).  Ms. Conover has Emergency COVID-19 Certification.

16)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the regular substitute appointment of Susan Reardon as Family and Consumer Science Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1,2021 through June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 salary to be $55,711 (Step 8 +M).  Ms. Reardon is eligible for Family and Consumer Sciences certification.

17)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve five (5) additional days for Amy Hefley, School Psychologist (Sacandaga Elementary School), at 1/200th of her 2020-2021 annual salary for the period of September 7, 2021 through September 27, 2021, to assist with start of the school year.

18)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change of appointment of Pamela Bemis as Teaching Assistant from part-time to full time, 7 hours/day (High School/Middle School), effective September 1, 2021, with no change in salary.

19)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change of assignment of Melissa Becker as Teaching Assistant (Glendaal) to Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021, with no change in salary.

20)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Benjamin Tunison as Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $18.02/hour (Step 2), 7 hours/day.  Mr. Tunison has Teaching Assistant Level 1 certification.

21)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change of assignment of Joyce Semerad from Teaching Assistant (High School) to GIVE Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021, with no change in salary, but the addition of a stipend.

23)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Kathryn Salo as Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $18.02/hour (Step 2), 7 hours/day.  Ms. Salo has Emergency COVID 19 certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth – Grade 2) and Early Childhood Education (Birth – Grade 2).

23)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Aimee Puglisi as Life Skills Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $17.63/hour (Step 1), 7 hours/day.  Ms. Puglisi has Teaching Assistant Level 1 certification.

24)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change in assignment of Susan Bandy from Life Skills Teaching Assistant (High School) to Building Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021, with no change in salary.  Ms. Bandy holds a Teaching Assistant Level 3 certification.

25)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Shane DeRose as Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $17.63/hour (Step 1), 7 hours/day.  Mr. DeRose has Teaching Assistant Level 1 certification.

26)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Cheryl Reed as Teaching Assistant (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $17.63/hour (Step 1), 7 hours/day.  Ms. Reed has Teaching Assistant Level 1 certification.

27)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change of assignment for Melissa Becker Teaching Assistant from Glendaal Elementary School to the High School, effective September 1, 2021, with no change in salary.

28)   Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Denisia Iacovitti as Lunch Monitor (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 8, 2021 through June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 2.5 hours/day, 12.5 hours per week.

29)   Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Grenda Donis as Student Aide (Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective September 8, 2021 through June 30, 2021, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $13.25/hours, 6.25 hours/day, 33 hours per week.

30)   Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Wendy Lussier as Teacher Aide (Glendaal Elementary School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 6.25 hours/day, 31.75 hours per week.

31)   Superintendent’s Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Jessica Rossler as Student Aide (High School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 7 hours/day, 35 hours per week.

32)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Karly Bell as Teacher Aide (Glendaal Elementary School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022 with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 6.25 hours/day, 31.75 hours per week.

33)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Nicole Rausch as PPS Teacher Aide (Middle School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022 with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 7 hours/day, 35 hours per week.

34)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Dawn Montanye-Haley as Teacher Aide (Sacandaga Elementary School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022 with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 6.25 hours/day, 31.75 hours per week.

35)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change in appointment of Erin Allen from Lunch Monitor (Sacandaga Elementary School) to Door Monitor (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 8, 2021 through June 30, 2021 with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $14.04/hour, 2.5 hours/day, 12.50 hours per week.

36)   Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Margaret Cowell as School Monitor (Lincoln Elementary School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, effective September 8, 2021 to June 30, 2022 with 2021-2022 salary to be at the rate of $12.50/hour, 3.5 hours/day, 17.5 hours per week.
