Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the 2020-2021 Annual Update of the Financial Risk Assessment Report and Special Education Audit Report for the Scotia-Glenville Central School District, as submitted by Questar III.

9. Resolution:  Establish the Jason Van Sleet Memorial

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated May 2021, to establish the Jason Van Sleet Memorial Scholarship, with the first annual award of $1000 to be presented to a graduating senior in 2022, as submitted.

10. Resolution:  Increasing Unemployment Reserve Fund

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution dated June 14, 2021, regarding the decrease in the undesignated fund balance (A909) by $80,000.00 and increase the Unemployment Reserve Fund (A815) by $80,000.00, as submitted.

11. Resolution:  Accept attached Donation List for various High School Award Scholarships

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the attached donation list to be applied to various High School scholarship awards, as submitted.

12. Approve the Agreement by and between the Scotia-Glenville School District and Richard Wiesen as Consultant

Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Agreement, dated June 14, 2021, between the Scotia-Glenville School District and Richard Wiesen as Consultant, as submitted.

a.     Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Elana Evenden, Aide (Lincoln Elementary), effective June 11, 2021, with appreciation for her service to the district, as submitted.

b.     Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Carol Valentine, Bus Monitor (Transportation), effective June 20, 2021, with appreciation for her service to the district, as submitted.

c.     Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Dale Olsen, Bus Driver (Transportation), effective June 30, 2021, with appreciation for his service to the district, as submitted.

1)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That Julia Pyzik, professionally certified in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), be granted tenure in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade2), effective September 1, 2021.

b.  Staffing

1)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Heather Swiecicki as Special Education Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $67,182 (Step 15 +M).  Ms. Swiecicki has permanent certification.

2)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Lindsey Dutelle as Special Education Teacher (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with 2021-2022 salary to be at $67,182 (Step 15 +M).  Ms. Dutelle has professional certification.

3)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Jennifer Montrym as Special Education Teacher (High School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023, with 2021-2022 salary to be at $53,728 (Step 7 +M).  Ms. Montrym has initial certification.

4)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Taylor Audi as Special Education Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with 2021-2022 salary to be at $47,542 (Step 3 +M).  Ms. Audi has initial certification.

5)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Akra Scott as Special Education Teacher (Glen-Worden), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $53,728 (Step 7 +M).  Ms. Scott has professional certification.

6)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Jonn Gochenour as Health Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024, with 2021-2022 salary to be at $48,361 (Step 4 +M).  Mr. Gochenour has initial certification.

7)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Tricia Haldane as General Education Teacher (Lincoln Elementary School), effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $65,077 (Step 14 +M).  Ms. Haldane has professional certification.

8)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Shawn Logston as Speech Language Pathologist (Middle School) effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $53,376 (Step 6 +M + CCC).  Ms. Logston has initial certification.

9)    Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Alyssa Hart as Speech Language (Therapy) Pathologist (Glen-Worden) effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2025, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $48,542 (Step 3 +M + CCC).  Ms. Hart has initial certification.

10) Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Sarah DeLorenzo as Special Education Substitute Teacher (Middle School), effective September 1, 2021 through September , 2021, with salary to be at the rate of $115.00 daily (first 10 days) and the rate of $123.00 (day 11-20) for the first 20 days, and then be appointed on the 21st day through June 30, 2022, with 2021-2022 salary to be at the prorated rate of $47,542 (Step 3 +M).  Ms. DeLorenzo has initial certification.

11) Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of the following list for 2020-2021 Seasonal Supplemental Help (Buildings and Grounds), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, with the 2020-2021 salary rate to be in accordance with the current Local 766 contract.

13) Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the appointment of Grenda Donis, School Monitor (High School), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, with the 2020-2021 salary to be at $12.50/hour, 7 hours/day, effective June 14, 2021.

14)  Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change in assignment of Brian Moak as Typist (High School – Guidance/Nurse’s Offices) to Typist (Sacandaga Elementary School Main Office) with no change in hours or salary, effective September 1, 2021.

15)  Superintendent’s Recommendation:  Approve the appointment of Henry Brown, Bus Driver/Mechanic (Transportation), in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Regulations, with the 2021-2022 salary to be at $25.94/hour (Step 3) plus $.15 longevity, 8 hours/day, 12 month, effective July 1, 2021

16) Superintendent’s Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the attached 2021 Extended School Year Program Revised Staff Roster and Salary List, as submitted.

Superintendent’s Comments (Susan M. Swartz, Superintendent of Schools)

Superintendent Swartz briefly discussed the requests the District has received to use the athletic fields for sports camps over the summer. She informed the Board that the District is developing a process and will bring further information to the Board as the process is finalized.

The Board discussed this issue and all agreed to move the June 28th meeting to June 22nd due to graduation being on the 28th.
