Back to School today – September 14 – is a mix of in-person and virtual learning for thousands of SG students

Getting close before the school bus arrives

The school year got off to a quick start today as thousands of students returned to school – or signed in from home – as they begin the 2020-21 school year.

With masks on and practicing social distancing where possible, students and staff began a new school year filled with hope.

And the sights were unique: everything from seeing teachers spray down desks between periods to teachers talking into a camera for at-home students to students sitting at least six apart in elementary, Middle School and High School classrooms to elementary students eating in their classrooms. Bus riders were assigned seats and spaced apart from each other.

The one constant at all three academic levels – the quiet in the hallways and classrooms.

Many thanks to the nearly 50 parents who sent us pictures of their students as they got ready in the morning!

Here are a few pictures from today. Check out MANY more photos on Facebook.
