A staff member at Glen-Worden has tested positive for COVID; six staff members and 20 students are excluded from school

A staff member at the Glen-Worden Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual and five additional staff members, as well as 20 students, will be excluded from school starting tomorrow, Monday, December 14, while the Schenectady County Public Health Services conducts contact tracing.

Glen-Worden will be open tomorrow, including the YCare program.

Everyone at the school is following health guidelines by wearing face masks and keeping socially distant, including the individual who tested positive. All staff members and students complete a series of health questions every morning from the Pinpoint Health Screening App before coming to school.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information about individuals suspected of, or having, COVID – 19. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
