Registering a student/updating your student's information

Changing your information with Scotia-Glenville

When you move within the Scotia-Glenville school district, you need to update your information in our student data system.

Here is the form to update your student's information in both:
  Microsoft Word (to save to your computer and complete) or

in PDF (to download and complete by hand).

As when a child is first registered, parents need to prove that they live within the school district boundaries.

 Here is a list of acceptable proofs of residency (PDF).

When you drop off your updated information to the central registrar, you will need to provide
both:

The completed student data change form

The proofs of residency

Need to register your child?
Scotia-Glenville registers new students through a
central registrar located at the District Office, 900 Preddice Parkway (at the end of Lark Street), Scotia.

Parents must make an appointment to register a child.

To register a kindergarten student, parents must provide the following:

Here is how to begin the registration process for  a child entering kindergarten.

Student’s original birth certificate (from the Dept. of Health and Vital Statistics);
TWO forms of proofs of residency
(see below).
IEP (Individualized Education Program), if applicable;
Custody papers, if applicable.

To register a grades 1-12 student, parents must provide the following:

Student’s original birth certificate
(from the Dept. of Health and Vital Statistics);
TWO proofs of residency
(see below);
Child’s transcript, schedule and most recent report
card from his/her previous school;
IEP
(Individualized Education Program), if applicable;
Custody papers, if applicable;
Parent/guardian valid photo ID.

Parents of private and parochial students asked to provide information

Parents of children who live in the Scotia-Glenville Central School District and attend a private or parochial school are being asked to complete a registration form, provide proof of residency and return that information to the registrar's office. [MORE]



TWO proofs of residency:
All proofs must be in parent’s/legal guardian’s name, state home address and be currently dated and may include a:

telephone bill;
utility bill;
tax bill;
bank statement;
payroll check stub;
income tax return;
lease (may need to be notarized by landlord);
rent receipt (may need to be notarized by landlord);
report about Social Service benefit information specifically stating the home address.

If buying or building a home, contact the registrar for acceptable proofs of residency.
