Dear Parents/Guardians:
I am writing you this letter to inform you of an incident that occurred at the middle school today. Students reported information to a teacher that there was a threatening message written in one of the bathrooms. The police, administrative staff and custodians were immediately involved. We immediately began a search of the building to make sure that an evacuation pathway was safe, in the event we would need to use it. Nothing was found to indicate the threat was real or that we were in imminent danger. We were in lockdown for about one hour and used our one-hour delay schedule for the remainder of the day.
We were able to apprehend the student involved with the writing of the message. As stated in previous letters, there are very serious consequences for writing threatening messages or falsely reporting one. We will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
