Buzz-in security system coming to the Middle School and High School

Beginning Tuesday, January 16, the front doors, as well as all other doors, at the Middle School and High School will be locked as soon as students arrive. The doors will be automatically locked at 7:30 a.m. at the Middle School and at 7:45 a.m. at the High School.

The doors will remain locked throughout the school day. They will be automatically unlocked at 2:30 p.m. at both buildings.

Parents and/or guardians and others visiting a school during the school day will need to be buzzed in at the main entrances. There is a buzzer and camera at each main door.

Individuals wishing to enter the school will push the buzzer and be asked for their name. Once the door monitor  determines the individual has a legitimate need to be at the school, he or she will be buzzed in through the main door. The individual may be asked to show identification and will sign in with the door monitor as is currently the district’s practice.

The buzz-in security system began at the four elementary schools in October 2016.
