Special Meeting Minutes
March 3, 2008
A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District was held in the Library Media Center of the Middle School, in said district on March 3, 2008.
President of the Board of Education Margaret Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Ahnert, Benedetto, Carbone, Conlon, Normington, Smith, Yagielski, Superintendent Swartz, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kavanaugh, School Business Manager Giaquinto and District Clerk DeLong
Absent: none
Hearing/Privilege of the Floor
Edward Capovani, 832 Church Rd., spoke to the Board regarding astroturf in a possible building project.
Gerry Moore, 122 Jay St., spoke to the Board regarding the possibility of a contingency budget.
John King, 1006 Tomahawk Tr., spoke to the Board regarding the building project.
BUDGET WORK SESSION: TRANSPORTATION, AND FACILITIES & OPERATIONS
Business Manager Giaquinto spoke briefly regarding the items in the proposed 2008-2009 budget for Transportation and Facilities & Operations. Dave Van Schaick, Director of Transportation and Don Petersen, Director of Facilities and Operations, both gave summaries to the Board for their prospective budgets. The Board asked several questions of Mr. Van Schaick and Mr. Petersen and requested further information on some of the items. The Board will discuss these budget items further at the next Budget Work Session.
OTHER BUSINESS
The Board briefly discussed the following:
á A request by the Glen-Worden PTA to have a Board member attend their PTA meetings
á The Odyssey of the Mind competition
MOVED by Yagielski that the meeting adjourn to Executive Session in order to discuss matters relating to personnel.

The Board adjourned to Executive Session at 8:47 p.m. and returned to Open Session at 9:15 p.m.
