Special Meeting Minutes

 

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District was held in the Board Room of the District Office, in said district on April 21, 2008.

 

President of the Board of Education Margaret Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

 

Present:      Ahnert, Benedetto, Carbone, Normington, Smith, Yagielski, Superintendent Swartz, School Business Manager Giaquinto and District Clerk DeLong

 

Absent: Conlon

BOCES 2008 – 2009 Administrative Budget and Board Vacancies

 

a.    MOVED by Yagielski that the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady-Saratoga Counties be authorized to expend the sums set for the

Administrative Budget document in the total amount of $6,846,312 during the

school year 2008 – 2009 and to raise such sum by assessments to component school

districts, non-component school districts, and other BOCES and other sources, as

deemed appropriate.

MOVED by Carbone that the Board of Education adjourn to Executive Session in order to discuss matters relating to personnel.

The Board adjourned to Executive Session at 6:14 p.m. and returned to Open Session at 6:19

p.m.

 

b. MOVED by Ahnert that pursuant to official notification by the Clerk of the Capital District Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Sandy Beloncik, John Bergeron, Barbara Mauro, John Phelan, Warren Snyder, and John Yagielski are candidates for four vacant BOCES Board seats, the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

 

      

RESOLVED, that the Scotia-Glenville Board of Education cast one vote for each of four

       candidates, as deemed appropriate.

 

The Board voted by majority to cast one vote for Beloncik, Bergeron, Phelan and Yagielski.
