Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School
District was held in the Board Room at The District Office in said district on
August 26, 2004.

the Board of Education Margaret Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Session at 7:39 p.m.
DISCUSSION:
COMMUNICATIONS
Board of
Education members and Superintendent Marcelle entered into a discussion, which
focused on two issues. These two
items included communication between the Board of Education members, as well as
communication between Board of Education members and Administrators. All seven Board of Education members
contributed to the discussion.
Some of the key points that were included:
A Board of
Education/Administrative Seminar will be held in October and it will be devoted
to communication between the groups.
At the end of
the discussion, an effort will be made by the Board of Education to summarize
key points on which the majority of members agree.
More effort
will be made to see if a majority of Board of Education members are in
agreement of an item that is being discussed.

EDUCATION PLAN FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Bradley that the Board of Education adopt the Special Education Plan for
Students with Disabilities for 2004-2006 as submitted.

a. Staffing
The regular
substitute appointment of Melissa M. Jerreld as Elementary Teacher (Glendaal
Elementary School), effective September 1, 2004 through December 23, 2004, with
2004-2005 salary to be at the annual rate of $38,770 (Step 4 +M). Ms. Jerreld has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the
school district’s receipt of clearance for the employee from the State
Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance
with the provision of Education Law §3035.

2) Rescind
the part-time Teaching Assistant appointment (Middle School) of Sharon Dereski
and further grant her a probationary appointment as Teaching Assistant (Middle
School), effective September 1, 2004 through August 31, 2007, with 2004-2005
salary to be at the annual rate of $19,860.75 (Step 8, 7 hours/day). Mrs. Dereski's Teaching Assistant
certification is in progress.
