A
Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central
School District was held in the Board Room of the Central Office Building in
said district on July 12, 2004.
President of the Board of
Education Margaret Smith called the meeting to order at 7:09 p.m.

Discussion:
Budget Calendar/Curriculum Calendar/Board of Education Meeting Dates
Superintendent Marcelle
outlined the revised 2005-2006 budget calendar. The Board discussed the possibility of adding an additional
Wednesday meeting to adopt the budget if necessary. Superintendent Marcelle also reviewed the schedule of
Curriculum Reports to the Board of Education for 2004-2005. The Board requested that a discussion
of the Young Scholars Program and the Academic Enrichment Plan be included
during the February Curriculum Report presentation. Superintendent Marcelle then presented the 2004-2005 Board
of Education meeting dates and sites.

Approve Classroom
Rental & Ancillary Services Agreement with BOCES
A classroom rental and
ancillary services agreement with the Capital Region BOCES for 2004-2005 (for
lease of eight classrooms and Distance Learning classrooms), as submitted, and
authorize the President of the Board to execute same. (The agreement is
contained as Appendix B to these minutes.)
Approve 2004-2005 Fee
Schedule for Community Use of School Facilities
The 2004-2005 fee schedule
for community use of school facilities and regulations governing use of such
facilities, as submitted. (The
schedule is contained as Appendix C to these minutes.)
Adopt Policy Statement for 2004-2005 Free and
Reduced Price Meals or Free Milk
The Free and Reduced Price
Meals or Free Milk Policy Statement and authorize the School Board President to
sign the Certificate of Acceptance.

a. Staffing
1) The probationary appointment of Herbert E. Tedford,
III, as Assistant Principal (Middle School), effective July 26, 2004 through July 25, 2007, with 2004-2005
salary to be at the annual rate of $65,000. Mr. Tedford has certification pending. This appointment is
conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from
the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in
accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
2) The probationary appointment of Cathleen C. Barrett
as School Psychologist (Glendaal Elementary School and Senior High School),
effective September 1, 2004 through August 31, 2005, with 2004-2005 salary to
be at the annual rate of $47,611 (Step 11 +M +40). Ms. Barrett has permanent certification.
3) The part-time appointment of Alicia A. Lisowski as
Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish), (Senior High School and Middle School),
effective September 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, with 2004-2005 salary to be
at the annual rate of $24,920 (Step 1 + M). Ms. Lisowski has provisional certification pending. This appointment is conditioned on the
school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State
Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance
with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.

Ms. Falso's Teaching Assistant certification is in progress.
11) The
probationary appointment of Monica Statile as Teaching Assistant, (Middle
School Computer Lab), effective September 1, 2004 through August 31, 2007, with
2004-2005 salary to be at the annual rate of $17,062.50 (Step 3, 7 hours/day). Ms. Statile's Teaching Assistant
certification is in progress. This appointment is conditioned on the school
districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education
Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the
provision of Education Law ¤3035.
12) The correction in the assignment of Rugena Sitzer,
Stenographer (Senior High), from 10 summer days to
20 summer days, and further approve the change in longevity rate from $.15/hr to $.20/hr, effective November 7, 2004.
13) The change in longevity rate for Patricia Saskowicz,
Executive Secretary 1 (Middle School), from $.15/hr to $.20/hr, effective September 14, 2004.
14) The part-time appointment of Michael Proper as
Scotia-Glenville Fitness Center Assistant, effective June 28, 2004 through
August 31, 2004, in accordance with Civil Service Regulations, with salary to
be at the rate of $10.60/hour, 10.5 hours/week.
15) Terminate the provisional appointment of Wayne Myslinski as Head
Custodian (Senior High School) and grant him a probationary appointment to the
same position, in accordance with Civil Service regulations, effective June 22,
2004, with no change in annual salary.
