Special Meeting Minutes

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District was held at the District Office in said district on April 3, 2003.

President of the Board of Education Kurt Ahnert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.

Present: Ahnert, Bradley, Carbone, Carpenter, Conlon, Magruder, Smith, Superintendent Marcelle, District Treasurer Nolie

DISCUSSION: 2003-2004 BUDGET

Superintendent Marcelle reviewed additional cuts recommended by the Administrators. The Board discussed the recommendations.

The Board discussed a possible relationship with Schenectady Community College.

The Board agreed to the additional cuts. President Ahnert noted that he believes there were three areas that the Board still wanted to consider:

· ½ Day Kindergarten

· 7^th Grade Modified Sports

· Elementary Teaching Positions

OTHER BUSINESS

• Superintendent Marcelle reminded the Board that School Reports would be made public on April 10, 2003.

• There was a mistake in the grading of the 9^th grade Terra Nova tests. Revisions will be sent to parents.

• Superintendent Marcelle reminded the Board that the next meeting would be held on April 7, in the auditorium at the Middle School.

MOVED by Carbone that the Board of Education adjourn into Executive Session to discuss matters of personnel and/or negotiations.

The Board of Education adjourned to Executive Session at 9:50 p.m. and returned to Open Session at 10:12 p.m.

MOVED by Carbone that the meeting be adjourned.
