4.    Curriculum Report: New Courses: Science Research (Randy Jenkins Š Academic Head for Science), Child Development (Connie Zack Š Family & Consumer Sciences Department Chairperson)

 

5.    Discussion/Adoption of the 2010-2011 School Calendar

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the 2010-2011 School Calendar, as submitted

 

6.    Approval of Agreement with Questar III for Internal Audit Services for 2010-2011

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Agreement with Questar III to provide Internal Audit Services for 2010-2011, as submitted.

 

7.    Appoint Assistant Treasurer of the School District

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Maureen Long as Assistant Treasurer of the School District, for the 2009-2010 school year, at no additional remuneration, effective January 1, 2010.

 

8.    Appoint Sexual Harassment Compliance Officer and Title IX/EEOC Hearing Officer

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Maureen Long as Sexual Harassment Compliance Officer and Title IX/EEOC Hearing Officer for the 2009-2010 school year, at no additional remuneration, effective January 1, 2010.

 

9.    Appoint Student Records Access Officer

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Maureen Long as Student Records Access Officer for purposes of complying with the Buckley Amendment, for the 2009-2010 school year, at no additional remuneration, effective January 1, 2010.

 

10.  Appoint 504 Rehabilitation Act Hearing Officer

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Kenneth Handin as Section 504 Rehabilitation Act Hearing Officer for the 2009-2010 school year, at no additional remuneration, effective September 1, 2009.

 

11.  Appoint Alternate Extraclassroom Activity Fund Treasurer

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Colleen DiCaprio as Alternate Extraclassroom Activity Fund Treasurer for the Senior High School and Middle School, for the 2009-2010 school year, with no additional remuneration

 

12.  Appoint Inspectors for Annual District Election

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint Inspectors, and Inspectors for Nursing Homes for the Annual District Election on May 18, 2010, as submitted.

 

13.  Resolution: Accept and Appropriate Gift and Donation from Schenectady County      Conservation District, Town of Glenville, to the Middle School GIVE Program

 

       SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution,        dated April 26, 2010, regarding acceptance of a donation from the Schenectady County     Conservation District, Town of Glenville, of top soil and wood chips, to the Middle School    GIVE Program, as submitted.

 

14.  Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) 2010-2011 Administrative Budget and Board Vacancies (Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady-Saratoga Counties)

 

a. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following       Resolution:

 

         RESOLVED, that the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of Albany-Schoharie-          Schenectady-Saratoga Counties be authorized to expend the sums set for the        Administrative Budget document in the total amount of $7,134,975 during the school          year 2010-2011 and to raise such sum by assessments to component school districts,              non-component school districts, and other BOCES and other sources, as deemed                  appropriate.

 

       b.    SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That pursuant to official notification by the Clerk of           the Capital District Board of Cooperative Educational services, Robert L. Domenici,             Kevin Kutzscher, and Rose Surman are candidates for three vacant           BOCES Board seats, the Board of Education approve the following resolution:

      

               RESOLVED, that the Scotia-Glenville Board of Education cast one vote for each of             three candidates as deemed appropriate.
