Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the following Resolution:
Resolved that the Annual Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District for the 2007-2008 school year be held on July 9, 2007, beginning at 7:00 PM in the District Office in said District.
8. Request for Overnight Field Trip - Sacandaga Elementary School Grade 5 Students to Frost Valley Environmental Education Center, Claryville, New York
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the request for the overnight trip of the Sacandaga Elementary School Grade 5 Students to Frost Valley Environmental Education Center, Claryville, New York, from September 17 through September 19, 2007.
9. Appointment of Committee on Special Education
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint the list of members to the Committee on Special Education for the 2007-2008 school year, as submitted.
10. Appointment of Committee on Preschool Special Education
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education appoint the list of members to the Committee on Preschool Special Education for the 2007-2008 school year, as submitted.
11. Resolution: Accept Gift and Donation
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated June 25, 22007, regarding acceptance of a donation from Dunkin' Donuts, as submitted.
12. Resolution: Amend Gift and Donation Resolution, Dated December 11, 2006, Regarding the Donation from the Glen-Worden PTA
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated June 25, 2007, amending the Resolution, dated December 11, 2006, regarding the donation from the Glen-Worden PTA for $2,000, as submitted.
13. Adopt the Career Choices, Academic Innovations Textbook for Career and Financial Management A, Grade 9

14. Advanced Therapy: Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Services
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve contracting for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services with Advanced Therapy for the 2007-2008 school year, as submitted.
15. Advanced Therapy: Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Services
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the contract for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services with Advanced Therapy for the 2006-2007 summer school session, as submitted.
16. Resolution: Ice Hockey Merger.
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated June 25, 2007, authorizing the merger agreement with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for an interscholastic ice hockey team, as submitted.
17. Resolution: Appropriate Tax Certiorari Reserve Funds
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Resolution to establish and appropriate tax certiorari reserve funds, as submitted.
18. Resolution: Edna Gardner Scholarship.
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated June 25, 2007, regarding acceptance of the Edna Gardner Scholarship, as submitted.
19. Communications
a. Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Kristen Huntsman, Guidance Counselor (Middle School), effective c.o.b. July 13, 2007, with appreciation for her service to the district.
b. Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of Peter Guare, Teaching Assistant (Senior High School), effective c.o.b. June 30, 2007, with appreciation for his services to the district.
20. Routine Business
a. Staffing
1) Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the revised Addendum to the Superintendent's Contract, dated June 25, 2007, as submitted.
2) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the 2007-2008 salary of Joseph Kavanaugh, Director of Curriculum and Instruction (Districtwide) at the annual rate of $116,727.
3) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the provisional appointment of Andrew Giaquinto as School Business Manager, effective July 16, 2007 through until such time as the civil service test is given, with 2007-2008 salary to be $90,000. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provisions of Education Law 3035.
4) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the 2007-2008 salary list for administrators, as submitted.
5) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the 2007-2008 contract and recommended salary of $59,500 for Donald Peterson, Management/Confidential employee.
6) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education terminate the temporary appointment of David Bond, Senior Custodian (Sacandaga Elementary School) and grant him a probationary appointment to the same position, in accordance with Civil Service Regulations, effective June 19, 2007, with no change in current rate of pay.
7) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Christine T. Nofri as a Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2009, with 2007-2008 salary to be at $47,556 [Step 9 +M + NBC (Nationally Board Certified)]. Ms. Nofri has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provisions of Education Law 3035.
8) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of David Swain as Elementary Teacher (Grade 6, Middle School), effective September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2010, with 2007-2008 salary to be at $41,452 (Step 4 +M +13). Mr. Swain has initial certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provisions of Education Law 3035.
9) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Winifred A. Valachovic as Elementary Teacher (Lincoln Elementary School), effective September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2010, with 2007-2008 salary to be at $38,477 (Step 3). Mrs. Valachovic has initial certification.
10) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the regular substitute appointment of Tana Case as Elementary Teacher (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, with 2007-2008 salary to be at $41,587 (Step 4 +M +18). Ms. Case has initial certification.
11) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Karen Feurer as Teaching Assistant (Districtwide), effective September 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, with 2007-2008 salary to be at the annual rate of $15,210 (Step 1, 6 hours/day). Mrs. Feurer has Teaching Assistant certification in progress.
12) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Jennifer Russell as Teaching Assistant (Districtwide), effective September 1, 2007 through June 30 2008, with 2007-2008 salary to be at the annual rate of $15619.50 (Step 2, 6 hours/day). Ms. Russell has Teaching Assistant certification in progress.
13) Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following appointment/change in appointment for the following employees at the rate of 1/200 of their 2006-2007 annual salary for each full day of service this summer:

14) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the following be appointed as secondary summer school teachers with salary to be at the rate of $1,370 for first year teachers, $1,440 for second year teachers, and $1,510 for third year teachers, $1,580 for fourth year teachers, and $1,650 for five consecutive years or more, provided that student registration is sufficient for the proposed courses:
