6. Resolution: Annual Organizational Meeting
Superintendent's Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the following Resolution:
Resolved that the Annual Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District for the 2005-2006 school year be held on July 11, 2005, beginning at 7:00 PM in the District Office in said District.
7. Special Board of Education Meeting
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education establish June 20, 2005, as a Special Board of Education Meeting date for the purpose of Executive Session.
8. Resolution: Electric Easement to Niagara Mohawk
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Resolution, dated June 13, 2005, granting an easement to Niagara Mohawk in order to install, maintain, replace and operate underground electric facilities including cables, conduits, wires, pedestals, closures, handholes, transformers and such other supporting apparatus at the Glen-Worden Elementary School, as submitted.
9. Resolution: Gas Easement to Niagara Mohawk
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the Resolution, dated June 13, 1005, granting an easement to Niagara Mohawk in order to install, maintain, replace and operate underground gas facilities including pipeline or lines with all valves, and appurtenant apparatus, structures or markers at the Glen-Worden Elementary School, as submitted.

11. Resolution: Nomination of Lynne Lenhardt as NYSSBA Area 7 Director
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the following resolution:
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education submit the nomination of Lynne Lenhardt as NYSSBA Area 7 Director for a two-year term.
12. Resolution: Instructional Technology Coordinator
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the Memorandum of Agreement between the Scotia-Glenville TeachersÕ Association and Scotia-Glenville Central School District regarding the inclusion of the new position of Instructional Technology Coordinator, as submitted.
13. Adoption of 2005-2006 Board of Education Meeting Schedule
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education adopt the proposed schedule of Board of Education Meetings for the 2005-2006 school year, as submitted.
14. Advanced Therapy: Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy Services
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve contracting for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services with Advanced Therapy for the 2005-2006 school year.
15. Field Utilization Study
SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education enter into a contract with Fraser and Associates for a Field Utilization Study.

a. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Karen Pelletier, Library Media Specialist (Middle School), effective June 30, 2005, with appreciation for her service to the district.
b. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation for retirement purposes of James Rodecker, Buildings & Grounds Supervisor, effective c.o.b. July 28, 2005, with appreciation for his service to the district.
c. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Ellen M. Falk, Mathematics Teacher (Senior High School), effective August 2, 2005, with appreciation for her service to the district.
d. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Jaroslava (Jarka) Dearstyne, Teacher Aide, Senior High School,
effective c.o.b. August 31, 2005, in order for her to accept a position as Teaching Assistant, Senior High School.
e. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Andreina Giovannone, Teacher Aide (Transportation Department), effective c.o.b. June 30, 2005, with appreciation for her service to the district.
f. SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education accept the letter of resignation of Jeannette Hartman, School Monitor (Lincoln), effective c.o.b. June 22, 2005, with appreciation for her service to the district.

a. Tenure Recommendations
1) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That Molly Kohout, who holds a Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant, be granted tenure as a Teaching Assistant, effective September 1, 2005.
2) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That Marianne Ille, who holds a Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant, be granted tenure as a Teaching Assistant, effective September 1, 2005.
3) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That Dennis Bye, who holds a Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant, be granted tenure as a Teaching Assistant, effective September 24, 2005.
b. Staffing
1) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Mark D. McCarthy as Academic Head for Mathematics (Districtwide), effective July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2008, with 2005-2006 salary at the annual rate of $65,000. Mr. McCarthy has provisional certification.
2) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Dorothy J. Halligan as Remedial Reading Teacher (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2006, with 2005-2006 salary to be at Step 15 +M +36 when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Halligan has permanent certification.
3) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Elizabeth Ryan as School Media Specialist (Library)
(Glen-Worden Elementary School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 1 +M when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. RyanÕs certification is in process. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
4) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Stacey Adams as Mathematics Teacher (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 10 +M +4 when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Adams has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
5) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Katherine A. Kaczmarek as Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Middle School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 3 +M when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Kaczmarek has provisional certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
6) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Lois R. Long as Teacher of Children with Handicapping Conditions (General Special Education Tenure Area) (Sacandaga Elementary School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 5 +M +12 when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Long has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
7) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Renee Evenden as Remedial Speech Teacher (Sacandaga and Glendaal Elementary Schools), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 3 +M when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Evenden has permanent certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
8) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Kimberly Durant as English Teacher (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 annual salary to be at Step 2 +M +23(1/3) when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Durant has initial certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
9) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the part-time appointment of Britt Deckers as a Remedial Speech Teacher (Glendaal Elementary School), effective September 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, with 2005-2006 salary to be at Step 1 +M +22 (70%) when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Deckers has provisional certification. This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.
10) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the regular substitute appointment of Misty Maib as Mathematics Teacher (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, with 2005-2006 salary to be at Step 6 +M +9 when teachersÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Ms. Maib has conditional provisional certification.
11) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Jaroslava (Jarka) Dearstyne as Teaching Assistant (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 salary to be at Step 1 when Teaching AssistantsÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Mrs. DearstyneÕs Teaching Assistant certification is in process.
12) SuperintendentÕs Recommendation: That the Board of Education approve the probationary appointment of Linda Risley as Teaching Assistant (Senior High School), effective September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008, with 2005-2006 salary to be at Step7 when Teaching AssistantsÕ salaries for 2005-06 are set. Mrs. Risley holds a Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant.
