In accordance with Policy #1230, privilege of the floor will be extended at this time to any person in attendance.  The time allowed, protocol and procedures are outlined in the ÒWelcome to a Meeting of the Board of EducationÓ brochure.

 

4.    Presentation: Long Range Plan Ð Joseph Kavanaugh, Director of Curriculum and Instruction

 

5.    Budget Review:       Presentation of Preliminary 2004-2005 Budget Overview

                                           K-12 Programs and Staffing

 

6.    Resolution:  Accept Gift and Donation

 

       Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated February 26, 2004, regarding acceptance of a donation from the Scotia-Glenville Lions' Club, as submitted.

 

7.    Resolution:  Accept and Appropriate the Best Buy Children's Foundation Grant

 

       Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the Resolution, dated March 1, 2004, regarding acceptance and appropriation of the Best Buy Children's Foundation Grant, as submitted.

 

8.    Routine Business

 

       a.    Staffing

 

             1)     Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the following spring coaching appointment for 2003-2004:

 

                      Baseball

                      Assistant     *Keith Werner                         -0- 

 

 

 

* This appointment is conditioned on the school districtÕs receipt of clearance for the employee from the State Education Department following a criminal history records check in accordance with the provision of Education Law ¤3035.

 

2)   Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the  change in the spring coaching appointment for 2003-2004 of Darren VanHeusen, Boys' Varsity Lacrosse, from Step 5, $3,555, to Step 10, $3,925. 

 

b.    Placement of Children with Disabilities

The Board may adjourn to Executive Session in order to discuss matters relating to personnel and/or negotiations.
