AGENDA

 

1.    Roll Call.  Ahnert, Bradley, Carbone, Carpenter, Conlon, Magruder, Smith

3.    Hearing/Privilege of the Floor

 

In accordance with Policy #1230, privilege of the floor will be extended at this time to any person in attendance.  The time allowed, protocol and procedures are outlined in the ÒWelcome to a Meeting of the Board of EducationÓ brochure.

 

4.    Final Review and Adoption of 2004-2005 Budget

 

       Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education submit the following proposition at the Annual District election on May 18, 2004:

 

       RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Scotia-Glenville Central School District be authorized to expend the sums set forth in the total amount of $___________ during the 2004-2005 school year and to levy the necessary tax therefore.

 

5.    Communications

 

       a.    Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the request for an unpaid leave of absence for childcare purposes of Jennifer Smialek, Elementary Teacher (Glendaal), effective September 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004.

 

       b.    Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the change in the date of resignation of Paul Whitley, Industrial Arts Teacher and Dean of Students (Middle School) from effective c.o.b. April 8, 2004 to effective c.o.b. April 5, 2004.

 

       c.    Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the request for an unpaid leave of absence for medical purposes of Josefina King, Cleaner (Middle School), effective March 26, 2004 through April 26, 2004.

 

 

6.    Routine Business

 

       a.  Staffing

 

            1)     Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education approve the following spring coaching appointment for 2003-2004:

 

                     Modified Track

                     Kyle Wormuth                  Step 1          $1,885

 

            2)     Superintendent's Recommendation:  That the Board of Education terminate the probationary appointment of John Leighton, Science Teacher (Biology and Earth Science), GOAL Program (Senior High School), effective c.o.b. June 30, 2004.

                       

        7.   Other Business

 

The Board may adjourn to Executive Session in order to discuss matters relating to personnel and/or negotiations.
