Junior Victoria Savoie, who is studying to become a Nurse Assistant at the Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical School, donated blood for the first time today as part of the SkillsUSA blood drive at the school.
A total of 64 units of blood were collected at the drive, with many participants being first-time donors. Nearly 80 people attempted to donate; some may have been disqualified because they did not weigh enough or for other other reasons. A donation total of 64 units collected translates into 192 lives saved!
