The high school went on “lockout” for about 20 minutes this afternoon due to a potentially dangerous situation involving one of our families.
A “lockout” means that all outside doors are secured so that visitors cannot enter the building.
Students were asked to change classes between periods 8 and 9 (1:44 to 1:48 p.m.) using interior halls in the building as a precaution. Students and staff were able to move freely inside the building and to leave campus as needed.
Students and staff were never in danger and the Glenville/Scotia police were on campus in the event that a problem should develop.
Due to the quick work of the local police, school administrators, and family members, the situation was handled off campus and there was no threat on the campus.
