Meeting Minutes Approved from Virtual Meeting
- 5th grade luncheon co-chairs are Linda Pleminik and Rachel Trembley. The budget for the luncheon is $700 if no t-shirts are being sold (for projected revenue of $250) and $950 if t-shirts will be sold
- Kay Sturdy scholarshipÑreviewers are needed during the time frame of 4/22/08-5/9/08 in the afternoons to review the applications: volunteers include Michele Calderon, Clara Bisaillon, and Melissa Peterson
- Nomination Committee for new Officer position needs to be started. There will need to be a committee to fill positions that will be open for the next school year. We discussed the form that had been used previously, and we will have a form by the next meeting.
- Teacher appreciation week is 6/16/08-6/20/08 and we are going to need SKILLED parent volunteers to help carry out our secret projects. Rachel will be printing a flyer that will go home with children soliciting volunteers of skills and donations that may be needed. There was discussion about having a luncheon in addition to our project.
- Friendly reminder to all those who so kindly make purchases for the PTA, when using the tax exempt slip: items should be only those to be used for PTA events. If you are doing ANY personal shopping at the same time, PLEASE pay for your personal items separately. This will help our treasurers from an accounting point of view as well as eliminating the possibility of losing our tax-exempt status due to abuse. During an audit, personal purchases could put our tax-exempt status at risk. Chris now has the tax-exempt slips if you need them in the future.
- Holiday Bazaar committee is looking for a dollar amount to add to the budget for the Bazaar next year. Clara and her committee would like to begin crafting this summer. It was stated that the PTA would like to avoid the foam projects and have requested that Kathi Waters be included in crafting ideas for her craft club.
- Both sets of PTA bylaws are up for renewal and they are being prepared. Once
completed they will need to be signed by the Co-Presidents and the Secretary.
- Kay Sturdy money and Fabulous Friday money are the only additions this month.
- Chris McKenna wrote a letter addressing the difference between what we actually owed for the circus last year and how much they charged us.
- Carolyn will revise the contract we currently have with Amazing LarryÕs Circus because it states that we pay him, when in actuality we pay BOCES, who then in turn pays Larry.

Ways and Means
- Silver Graphics order forms coming soon. Products will be delivered May 7th.
- New Scholastic fundraiserÑa person signs up for a google search and every time the search is used we get points that Scholastic turns into cash for our school.
- Animaland is another new fundraiser that resembles build-a-bearÑno prices, but Cathie will check into it to add to another event we already hold.
It was determined that Life Touch quoted us an incorrect priceÉSo we will be able to stay with the same prices as last year. 12.00 for pre-ordered books and 15.00 for books requested after our presales are complete.
We also decided that we would not do Spring photos. It would offset the price of the yearbook by about 2.50 a book but the time available to complete the task is not workable in the school schedule at this time.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:08pm.
Respectfully Submitted
